If you are not satisfied with the shape or appearance of your buttock then you can have a buttock enhancement by plastic surgeon Dr. Tran in Dallas,Texas. He received his credentials from some of the nation’s finest medical centers. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Before you decide to enhance your buttocks, think carefully about your expectations and make sure you discuss them with Dr. Tran.
Your Butt Lift Consultation
Your visit with Dr. Tran will determine if you are a good candidate for a butt enhancement. Most patient are of average or slightly over average weight. If you are in good physical health and have reasonable expectations then this may be a good choice for you. Since we need to have fat somewhere on your body to transfer it, this is not a good option for someone who is extremely thin without any fat to spare.
During your first visit, Dr.Tran will ask you about your desired results. This will help him understand your expectations and let you know if they can be realistically accomplished. He will examine you and consider factors such as the shape and contour of your buttock in relation to your waist, skin tone and the amount of fat you currently have on your body. Be prepared to discuss your concerns and any medical conditions you may have such as allergies, prior surgeries and medications, vitamins or other supplements that you currently take. It is important for you to provide complete information. If you are a smoker, you will be asked to stop smoking at least 3 weeks before your surgery.
You will learn about the procedure, its limitations and risks, and Dr. Tran will discuss your needs and concerns. He will explain the technique and after your consultation, photographs will be taken for your medical record.
Butt Augmentation Techniques
Using special liposuction techniques, fat is removed from other areas of the body, most commonly the waist, hips and outer thighs. The fat cells are then transferred to buttock and placed in multiple layers including the muscles to shape a smooth round buttock. Because the waist and areas around the butt are also liposuctioned, this helps sculpt and enhances the final appearance.
For patients who are very thin and have little body fat, a silicone butt implant can be inserted through an incision made in the buttock crease. This, however, does not usually feel as natural and has a slightly higher risk of complications.
The Day of Your Butt Enhancement
Before surgery, you will be given medicine to lessen the anxiety and pain. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and you are completely asleep. Before the procedure you will meet your anesthetist who will answer any questions you may have regarding your anesthesia. The surgery usually takes 2 to 4 hours. After surgery, you will awake in a recovery area where you will be monitored before being released to go home.
A fat transfer butt lift is usually performed as an outpatient procedure at a certified ambulatory surgery center in Rye or at one of several affiliated hospitals. Be sure to arrange for someone to drive you home and to help you the first couple days while at home.
Your Recovery After a Butt Augmentation
Some discomfort or pain is normal following surgery. In addition, a significant amount of swelling and some bruising is normal the first several days. When you are discharged, you will be given prescriptions for pain medication and antibiotics. Compression garments are also used for comfort and to help with swelling.
Most patients return to work after a week however, plan on having limited physical activity and restrictions against exercise for up to one month. Stretching exercises are recommended to commence the day after the procedure. While sitting is permitted, prolonged sitting is not recommended until at least one week has passed. We recommend that patients lay on their stomach while watching television during the first week.
Your follow-up visits will usually start a few days following your surgery for a checkup. During your postoperative visits, Dr. Tran will review activity limitations, incision care and concerns you may have.
